Where to Buy Cheap Caskets Under $500?

Looking for a cheap casket with a price that goes under $500 can be a bit hard to find. Most affordable caskets today falls in the price range of $1000 to $2000

It’s for this reason why most individuals will advise you to save your money until you have enough to buy one.

Saving your money is a good decision to make but what if you badly needed the coffin?

Let’s say for example that you got a deceased love ones who accidentally died which is an unexpected tragic event.

At this kind of situation, there is no time for you to save your money until you can afford to buy a casket.

Your best option would be to borrow money from your close friends and relatives. They may even just give you money as donations which is the best thing that they could do for your loss.

But, what if you are living overseas where your family relatives are beyond the reach? And, you have friends who are also suffering from financial crises?

Problematic

It’s like the world has turned against you.

I know that the odds of this from happening is very small but it does happens. Anyway, keep reading down below for the final option.

Cheapest Casket is to build it yourself

That is correct, build the casket yourself. Anyone can actually do it as long as you know how to handle a hammer, saw and other basic carpentry tools.

Before you start, you should buy all the necessary materials that you need. A $500 budget is more than enough to purchase them.

Timber Woods

What you need is to buy 2 x 3 inch woods for the frame of the casket. I could not suggest any measurements because the dimensions are dependent to the size of the deceased individual.

Thus, it is very important that you should acquire the proper measurements before you cut the materials.

If you are the type of person who really do not have much creativity, you can just build a rectangular shape coffin. It’s so easy to build a frame for this kind of shape.

Plywood

Aside from the 2 x 3 inch woods used for the frame, you also need to buy some plywood

This material is what you are going to use to cover both the internal and external sides of the casket but leave the top portion yet. Just prepare the top cover and set it aside for a while.

After all the funeral and other sorts of stuffs are done, you can now put the cover with the deceased inside the casket you made. You have to nail it so that it stays permanent.

And the rest is all up to you now.

Conclusion

It is too sad to say that it is very hard to find a cheap casket that falls under the price of $500 only.

If you do found one, it may needed to be shipped which could cost you a very expensive fee. But in most common cases, the quality of the casket that you will receive is most likely a huge disappoint.

Expensive Coffin

You have to know that what really dictates the actual price of a casket are the type of materials used and the craftsmanship or design.

This means that a casket with good quality and decorations means, it is quite an expensive one.

But if you do not have much money, you are indeed still far better off building the casket yourself. If you do lack some creativity, I would suggest searching YouTube for DIY tutorial videos

There are tons of videos out there where you can get some creative ideas and imitate it on your own.
